Thoughts on my girls growing up.

I surprised the girls with a room makeover this week and the changes have hit me harder than expected.

You know things will look different but didn’t know it would feel this different.

It’s certainly bittersweet watching the pinks and purples fade away, replaced by neutrals tones and textures.

Blink and the glitter and sparkle have been swapped with greenery and sandstone.

All fuzzy stuffed animals safely out-of-sight, making room for sleek lap desks for late-nite study sessions.

Messy finger paintings gently tucked away — all that belongs on these walls now is LED and macrame.

Witnessing your daughters change and grow is a jumbled ball of grief and gratitude.

Reminding yourself it’s just phase…you better not miss it.
